  2. I feared finishing dead last for a long time. Now, after fifty something races, I no longer fear it. In fact, I think it would be an honor. I cry tears of joy for those who cross dead last, more so than those who cross first.

  3. I concur.
    Sometimes, Last is first.
    It takes the final finishers
    alot more work on race day than the first place-ers. So extra kudos for the extra effort and righting your mental pendulum throughout the day.

  4. Brian & ViF :-) Thanks for extending my comment into a topic & for linking to my blog. It was such a pleasure reading the support of your friends and family on the athlete profile I wrote about your tri experience.

    I agree, being or watching the final finishers is extremely moving. I do think the value in events has more to do with what the athlete gave to be there in each moment than the speed or the distance covered.
