Victor Sara Cox Landolt, of Madison WI
adds some additional motivation to our
past Monday motivational quote of ...
"Dead Last Finish" is greater than "Did Not Finish",
which trumps "Did Not Start"!
Sara writes " I've been DLF and DNF" but adds
"Even DNS is better than a Never Tried!"
Touche Sara!

ReplyDeleteI feared finishing dead last for a long time. Now, after fifty something races, I no longer fear it. In fact, I think it would be an honor. I cry tears of joy for those who cross dead last, more so than those who cross first.
ReplyDeleteI concur.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, Last is first.
It takes the final finishers
alot more work on race day than the first place-ers. So extra kudos for the extra effort and righting your mental pendulum throughout the day.

Brian & ViF :-) Thanks for extending my comment into a topic & for linking to my blog. It was such a pleasure reading the support of your friends and family on the athlete profile I wrote about your tri experience.
ReplyDeleteI agree, being or watching the final finishers is extremely moving. I do think the value in events has more to do with what the athlete gave to be there in each moment than the speed or the distance covered.
